Y-Sail is aimed at getting the young people from the Ilfracombe and surrounding area out onto the water to experience sailing.

 

If you are keen to sail or even if you are just wishing to have a go then we have fantastic facilities to learn to sail in Toppers, Pico’s and a Laser 13.  All ideally suited to young learners.

The opportunity to try a new sport for the first time can often be all a person needs to catch that sporting bug. The “Y-Sail” project is a great way for young people to try sailing and this project sets out to offer people a quality sporting experience that will encourage them and their family’s to stay involved.

 

Y-Sail help comes from many members of the local community, including Ilfracombe RNLI.  All contributing freely with the aim of raising the profile of this project.

The Club is very keen for parents to get involved as shore-based helpers, safety boat support or drivers and instructors if qualified – even if it is just helping to pull the boats up the slipway.

Don’t worry if you haven’t got any experience as there is always someone around to help and we can train you up!

As you would expect Y-Sail has established arrangements for health and safety and safeguarding.
